What's New at Voltra | January 2025
May 15, 2025
Happy Belated New Year!
We've hit the ground running in 2026, and January has been one of our busiest months yet. The team has been hard at work shipping new features, expanding our platform capabilities, and building tools to make EV charging and energy device management even simpler for you.
Here's what's new:
🌐 Website Update
You may have noticed things look a little different. We've refreshed with a cleaner design, clearer messaging, and better resources to help you understand what Voltra can do for your energy infrastructure. Take a look and let us know what you think at www.voltra.com
⭐ Product Updates
NEW: Charger Traits
Charger Traits automatically detects how chargers behave — their quirks, capabilities, and limitations — so you don't have to. No more manually building charger profiles, no more complex integration testing, just connect and go. Bring your own device without every having to worry about procurement from different vendors.
Available now for OCPP 1.6J, with support for other protocols coming soon.

NEW: Driver IAM
Driver Identity and Access Management is now available. Define who can charge, at which locations, and under what conditions. Fine-grained permissions give you full control over driver access across your network.

NEW: RFID Authentication
Using your Charger just got simpler. We now support RFID for session authentication, giving your users a familiar tap-to-charge experience while you keep full control over access.

UPDATED: Policy Editor
We've rebuilt our policy editor from the ground up. Switch seamlessly between a code editor for more complex policies and a visual node-based editor for a birds eye view— your changes sync automatically between both. Build pricing and session authentication logic the way that works for you.

ADDITIONAL: General Bug Fixes and Performance Updates
⚠️ Beta Features Rollout
We're are going to start working closer with Beta users who want early access to new features before they hit general availability. Beta participants will get to test sandboxed features in a safe environment, provide feedback that helps shapes the product and roadmap, and be first in line when new capabilities roll out.
Reach out if you would like to be apart.
