This week we shipped major new capabilities across the platform. Here's what's new.

NEW: Smart Charging

Voltra Charge now supports Smart Charging via OCPP 1.6J — operators can set charging profiles that control how much power each charger delivers and when. Define site-wide defaults, per-session limits, or hard power ceilings, and stack multiple schedules for time-of-use rates, demand windows, or recurring daily and weekly patterns.

Profiles persist even when connectivity drops and can be updated mid-session as conditions change. Combined with Load Management and our direct OCPP endpoints, this gives operators real control over power delivery across their sites — not just monitoring.

NEW: OCPP Action Endpoints

We're exposing direct access to OCPP action endpoints. Operators and integrators can now issue OCPP commands — like RemoteStartTransaction, Reset, ChangeConfiguration, and others — directly through our API without going through abstracted workflows.

This matters for teams that need precise control over charger behavior: debugging firmware issues, triggering specific configuration changes across a fleet, or building custom automation on top of the OCPP layer. Instead of working around our platform, you can work through it with full protocol-level access.

Direct OCPP action endpoints are available for all OCPP 1.6J connected chargers on the platform.

Updated: Load Management

Load Management has a redesigned UI with support for groups and nesting, making it easier to organize and manage chargers across complex sites. Profiles now show more detail at the device, group, and site level — so operators can see exactly how power is being allocated at every layer.

These profiles are powered by Smart Charging, meaning the limits and schedules you set flow directly to the chargers via OCPP. Configuration and visibility in one place.
